CENTER FOR HEMISPHERIC POLICY - RESIDENT FELLOW PROGRAM



The Center for Hemispheric Policy at the University of Miami is seeking nominations for its new Resident Fellow Program. The applicant who is selected will be invited to spend the fall 2009 semester at the center, speaking at center programs, writing policy-oriented papers for the center, giving guest lectures at University of Miami classes focusing on Latin America and the Caribbean, and assisting in the organization and management of center task forces.
Eligibility
The competition is open to scholars from Latin American and Caribbean countries. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in political science, economics, international relations or a related field, and be specialists in Latin American and Caribbean policy issues.
Applicants must be able to speak and write English fluently. Applicants must also hold a valid passport.BenefitsThe Center for Hemispheric Policy will provide a $15,000 stipend for the September 2009-December 2009 residency in Miami. The University of Miami will provide on-campus housing and partial meal privileges for the fellow, who will be given library privileges, access to a computer and a desk and/or library carrel for daily use.
Selection process
Names of nominees for the position of resident fellow, together with a c.v. or a description of the candidate’s background and qualifications, as well as contact information, should be submitted to the Center for Hemispheric Policy.
Please submit information on nominees to: center@exchange.sba.miami.edu. A panel of experts will then review all applications and submit its recommendations to the Center for Hemispheric Policy’s director and associate director.
